    “Nope, our friend is going to a class on having the baby… she’s due in March and has to know how the baby will come out of her….” (keep in mind he’s 9, has no clue about pregnancy- sex ed is next year and has no younger siblings and this is the first pregnant lady he’s ever been around on a regular basis).

    He gave me a funny look so I asked him

    “What do you think the baby will still be in there? No way you wouldn’t fit in me!”

    He thinks on it…..

    “Yeah you would have exploded by now if I was still in you! There’s not much space and I’m too big!”

    Out of the mouths of babes!

    Out and about doing some shopping with Justice today and at one point we got back to the car. Parked right in front of us was a dark red Mustang….

    ME: So Justice if the Black Mustang (mine) was to have babies with the Red Mustang what color would they end up?

    Without missing a beat:

    Grey Mustangs!

    The driver of the red mustang was getting in his car at this point and just grinning.

  • Watching current events with Justice…

    While watching all the protest coverage in Egypt we were discussing the geography and looking at maps of course. Middle East, Africa, Egypt and then local maps of Tahir Square in Cairo which happens to be very close to the Nile and while some of the maps labels are in Arabic and others in English, Justice picked up on what we were looking at instantly!

    Justice: Egypt is in Africa right?

    Me: yes

    Justice: Oh Egypt has the Nile River and that’s one of the longest rivers in the world!  (we were looking at a zoomed in map of Cairo)

    Me: Yes!

    He loves his maps and knows a bit about geography and his curiosity grows all the time!

  • REWARD! $1 per missing Penguin….

    Our Neighbor Keith decorates… a LOT for the holidays and this winter has been windy so the decorations get scattered…. today the word got out that he was looking for his penguins….there’s 4 missing penguins and about a dozen children…. Sera found one.. Justice upon hearing of the reward goes racing outside… no jacket (it’s in the 40′s today) and snatches up the penguin he’d seen…. slipping and sliding all over the place just to return the penguin and collect the reward!

  • Blaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh……

    Every once in a while the fun side of mom comes out… usually at odd times as it did the other morning. I needed the hair brush out of the bathroom to finish getting ready for work and so just popped into the bathroom while the elder child was in the shower. What possessed me to do it I will never know but I whip the curtain back and yell BLAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH at Sera who only seconds before had been slowly falling asleep in the shower and immediately starts flailing about wildly screaming at the top of her lungs! I laughed and laughed. Unknown to me I also managed to wake the younger child with the yelling and whooping.
    SCORE! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA The evil side of mom had fun and laughed all the way to work over it! A fun way to start the day!
